The 12 Gbps Adaptec SmartHBA 2100-24i Host Bus Adapter has 24 internal SAS/SATA ports in a x8 PCIe Gen 3 low-profile, MD2 form factor and uniquely combines the capabilities of a full-featured host bus adapter (HBA) with those of a basic RAID adapter using hardware RAID. Built on the Microchip SmartIOC 2100 SAS/SATA protocol controller, HBA 2100 adapters can aggregate the performance of devices to the limits of the PCIe Gen 3 host bus at 6.6 Gbps, and achieve up to 1.7M IOPS without additional overhead or latency. The HBA 2100 adapters also have 40 percent power savings compared to previous generations, and significant power advantages versus competing solutions.
The HBA 2100, with its broad operating system support and ecosystem compatibility, is easy to implement and scale, and the unified maxView management tools and drivers across the Microchip HBA, RAID, and expander solutions enable easy manageability across the entire product line. HBA 2100 adapters are ideal solutions that support SAS/SATA HDDs, tape devices, and SSDs.
