The AT24CS08 features a 128-bit serial number that is programmed and permanently write protected during the Microchip manufacturing process. This unique identifier is separate from the main 8Kb memory array and eliminates the time consuming step of performing and ensuring serialization of a product on a manufacturing line. The 128 bit serial number is guaranteed unique across the entire CS series of Serial EEPROM products.
